Ningbo Maritime Silk Road Institute is based on the strategic cooperative frame agreement between Ningbo Municipal People's Government and Beijing Foreign Studies University. It was founded in the first China-CEEC Investment and Trade Expo (10th June, 2015) by Beijing Foreign Studies University and Zhejiang Wanli University. The institute relies on the advantage of disciplines and international influence of Beijing Foreign Studies University, Innovate on the systems and mechanisms,integrate the domestic and foreign resources, and facing Ningbo "The Belt and Road" strategy requirements. It carry out related research in the field of economy, trade, culture, language, law and policy etc. It aims to promote the communication and cooperation between Ningbo and countries along the Belt and Road routes. Expanding the international influence of Ningbo in economy, trade, culture and education fields. Promoting the capacity of internationalization level of higher education and serving local social economy ability. In respond to China-CEEC "16+1" cooperation strategy, the institute co-construction Ningbo CEEC Cooperation Institute on the basis of Ningbo Maritime Silk Road Institute. It is led by Ningbo Municipal Government and cooperates with Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and Zhejiang University Western China Development Institute.
